In the midst of the crisis, JC Denton, a nano-augmented rookie agent for the United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition (UNATCO), is sent to eliminate terrorist cells, but ends up drawn into the various schemes of rival factions and secret societies, who are responsible for the epidemic.

The main characters in the series possess artificially acquired superhuman abilities, referred to as "Augmentation."ĭeus Ex takes place during 2052, while the world is facing a crisis caused by a mysterious nano-virus called the Gray Death. The Xbox 360 game hits the backward compatibility library ahead of its sequel's release on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One later this year. It's an added option to fights that otherwise relied on first-person shooter-style gameplay.
In Director's Cut, players can now use hacking to take bosses down. These parts of the games were outsourced to GRIP Entertainment, not developed by Eidos Montreal like the rest of Human Revolution. Although Human Revolution received positive reviews in its initial release, critics complained of the boss fights and how they deviated from the stealth-driven action players got used to throughout the rest of the game. The biggest change from the older game is revamped boss fights. It also includes the downloadable add-on The Missing Link and a bonus mission.
